PAPER NATIONS CALL FOR SOCIAL MEDIA VOLUNTEERS

February 24, 2018

Paper Nations is a flagship research and development partnership run through TRACE (Bath Spa University’s Research Centre for Transnational Creativity and Education) and supported by Arts Council England’s Creative Writing in Schools Fund.  The organisation is currently looking for social media volunteers to help them achieve their goal of getting more children to enjoy the art of writing.

Paper Nations, based in the beautiful University campus of Corsham Court, works in partnership with organisations and individuals across the UK. They aim to give all children access to regular, high quality creative writing support – regardless of where they live or the economic barriers they may face.

Over the next year, Paper Nations are running five projects to help improve the writing ecology of the UK so that more young people can access the support they need to develop their writing talent.

Get Involved

Paper Nations are currently looking for social media volunteers to build their community and increase public engagement with their projects. Their volunteers are a key part of the Paper Nations’ mission to create a world in which all young people can access regular, high quality support to enjoy and develop a talent for the art of writing.

“The team will be working to create, continue and share conversations using social media, with the aim to support Paper Nations’ upcoming creative writing platform. This platform will work to make writing provision (e.g. writing festivals for young people, author visits, tutors, resources, clubs and workshops) at the local level more visible to young people and their families”

If you’re working towards a career in copywriting and are looking to gain some relevant work experience, this is role for you!

All volunteers will receive support and training in social media and editorial skills. There will also be opportunities to build tailored and creative workplace skills based on your individual interests.

More information about Paper Nations and their active projects can be found on their website. To apply for the role of Social Media Volunteer, please submit your CV & a one-page covering letter to Joanna Nissel at j.nissel@bathspa.ac.uk. Hurry, the closing date is 26th February 2018!
